Your Trimble Identity (Trimble ID), also known as your Trimble account, provides access to all Trimble applications and online services. Starting March 19th, 2025, Viewpoint for Projects and Field View will also use Trimble ID for user access.
Thanks to this change, you will be able to sign in to one Trimble online service and then browse to another without needing to sign in again, all with your Trimble ID.
What is Trimble ID?
Your Trimble ID is part of the Trimble authentication system that verifies your identity.
This account grants access to all of Trimble’s applications and websites, including Viewpoint solutions and services.
Am I required to switch to a Trimble ID?
Yes, if you currently have and/or use a Viewpoint ID, also known as your Trimble Construction One login.
Starting March 19, 2025, when you log in to any Viewpoint application that authenticates using Trimble Construction One login, you will be directed to create a Trimble ID. If you already have one, you should log in with it when you are redirected to the Trimble Sign-in page.
Successful completion of the required steps results in you being logged in to your Viewpoint application.
What steps do I take to switch to a Trimble ID as an admin?
You should inform your users of the upgrade.
You should allow emails from trimble.com to be received.
Upon signing in to any Viewpoint application on or after March 19th, 2025 you will be redirected to Trimble Sign In where you can create a new Trimble ID or login with your existing Trimble ID.
If your organization requires Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), you will need to set it up for your Trimble Account. If you fail to do so, you will not be able to access any Viewpoint product until you’ve set MFA up in Trimble.
Upon completion of the upgrade, you will be able to log in with your Trimble account.
I use Azure AD to log in to Viewpoint applications; what should I do in this case?
If you log in using Azure AD, your login process won’t change until your organization links with Trimble ID. Once Azure AD is linked with Trimble ID you will be asked to login via Trimble, and then will be redirected to Azure to log in as you always have. When logging in with Trimble, you should use your existing Azure AD credentials. Do not create a new Trimble account.
What steps do I take to upgrade to a Trimble ID if I’m using Azure ID?
Azure AD accounts admin:
Contact Trimble customer support and let them know which domain(s) need to be federated to Trimble.
Add Trimble Identity application from Azure App Gallery to your Azure tenant.
Users:
If you currently log in using Azure AD, your login process won’t change until your organization links with Trimble ID.
Once Azure AD is federated with Trimble ID you will be asked to login via Trimble, and then will be redirected to Azure to log in as you always have. When logging in with Trimble, use your existing credentials. Do not create a new Trimble account.
How long should it take to upgrade to a Trimble account?
We expect most users to complete the required steps in 2 minutes or less.
Do you already have a Trimble ID, but forgot your Password?
If you can’t remember your password, select the "Forgot Password" link on the Trimble ID login page.
On the sign-in page, enter the email address associated with your Trimble account and click the "Forgot Password?" link on the following page.
On the Password Recovery page, confirm the email address associated with your Trimble account.Trimble will then send you a code that allows you to reset your password.
When trying to reset my password, I got the message “The entered email does not exist”
Before creating a Trimble ID, make sure you correct any typos and try again.
If that doesn’t work, it means there is no Trimble account associated with that email address. Use the "Create an account" link provided on the sign-in page to create one.
I haven't received any emails when creating my Trimble account or resetting my password
Your company's firewall or spam filter may be blocking our emails:
Contact your IT department and ask them to allow emails from trimble.com.
If you find the email in your spam folder, add the trimble.com domain to your safe senders list.
I’m locked out of my account.
The Trimble Identity system locks your account if the wrong password was entered too many times and displays this message: “Your account has been temporarily locked for up to 15 minutes after too many failed attempts to sign in”. You can either wait 15 minutes or use the "Forgot Password" feature to reset your password and regain access immediately.
Using a 3rd Party Sign-In with Trimble Products.
While Trimble allows you to log in with Google or Apple ID, we recommend using your existing Trimble Construction One or work email for a better experience and improved support.
If you prefer to sign in with your Apple ID or Google credentials, click the appropriate button on the main page. These options are available if you don’t want to set up a Trimble-specific password. When contacting support, you may be asked for the email address associated with those services.
Will Trimble know my password if I sign in with Google or Apple?
No, signing in with Google or Apple will not allow Trimble to know your passwords.
Can I use the Hide My Email feature for Apple ID?
Apple’s Hide My Email feature is designed to protect users from unwanted emails. Per Trimble’s privacy policy, we will never sell your email or send you spam. However, if you still want to use this feature and need support or want to sign in using your email address, you will need to find and use the “private relay” email address in your Apple account.
Note: If you create a Trimble account using the email tied to your Apple account and then attempt to sign in with Apple using Hide My Email, Trimble will see that as a new account. This happens because your email is hidden from Trimble, and Trimble can’t recognize the two accounts as associated. If this occurs, go into your Apple ID settings and disable Hide My Email for Trimble Identity.
