Our Viewpoint Vista customers had a 5-star experience last week at the 2023 Viewpoint Vista User Summit!
Thanks to the thousands of Vista customers who joined the virtual conference and put our product experts to the test with insightful questions and suggestions.
A lot of PMs had questions around Trimble Viewpoint’s plan for project management, given the dual solutions of Field Management and ProjectSight.
Many back office accounting and finance pros were curious and excited about Automagic—whoops, we mean Automatic—Invoicing. Vista Web Office Tools, a top Vista enhancement of 2023, was another popular session.

1. Viewpoint Vista Integration with ProjectSight
We now have a directional transfer of data between Viewpoint Vista and ProjectSight when it comes to Jobs, cost estimates, cost types, cost details and phases to name a few.
The new integration with ProjectSight allows for modifications, change orders to make sure that your Project Management and its financials are in-sync with the back end Vista ERP.
Trimble Connect is fully integrated with ProjectSight and is a mobile app - access to all your data from the field via Trimble Connect. You can even load 3D models on your phone!

2. Trimble ID and Workcenter for Viewpoint Vista
We covered some exciting new capabilities that connect Vista to pre-construction data, but I'm going to start off by talking to you about Trimble ID and the Work Center. For all users, it's an experience where you login once to access all your Trimble applications — and everything looks and performs the same.

2. Automatic Invoicing for Vista
Using more than 10,000 historical invoices, we’ve built a robust Automatic Invoicing feature that turns PDF invoices into validated, vendor invoice entries in the Vista ERP.
Automatic Invoicing, made possible with Trimble Construction One cloud-based technology, massively reduces manual entry. Automatic Invoicing saves processing time, and greatly improves data accuracy. (Automatic Invoicing is available for the Spectrum ERP, too!)

4. Integrations and Partnerships with Vista
Trimble Construction Integrations team (formerly Ryvit) - Data Xchange and App Xchange. First, Data Xchange provides connectors that allow end users to manage their data flows between two connected systems. The vast majority of the connections you'll take advantage of can be monitored via Data Xchange.
That's where App Xchange comes in! That’s the configurability portal that allows you to map the data that will be exchanged across the systems that are most critical to you.
It's the combination of these two functions that powers true integration, and we're bringing you both through a team that has proven, time and time again, their commitment to driving construction interoperability.

5. Introducing B2W for Vista
The addition of B2W's suite of pre-construction and operations capabilities will expand both Trimble's already extensive civil infrastructure portfolio as well as the growth of Trimble Construction One.
By combining their deep civil expertise and capabilities with Trimble's already-rich field data, project management, finance and human capital management solutions, civil contractors will be able to bridge the gap between office and field in new ways, promoting transparency, efficiency and ultimately profitability.
Fun fact: "B2W" stands for "bid to win"!
6. Microsoft Azure: Future-proof for the Long Term
We're already delivering to prepare for this fast-paced future. Trimble's partnership with Microsoft, and Viewpoint's development on Microsoft Azure will allow us to:
- Leverage all of Microsoft Azure's security measures, extending those to Spectrum customers
- Leverage Microsoft's ability to scale, especially with cloud operations, so we can deliver the tools and workflows you need even faster.
Cloud-Connected or Bust
Rather than worrying about things you can’t control—inflation, COVID, the job market, your teenager—why not focus on what can be controlled? Like technology.
We can’t control life, but we can adjust the inputs and outputs of technology, and according to Trimble Viewpoint GM Lawrence Smith in the Keynote session, that’s where construction companies can see the biggest opportunities.
