McLaren Construction has been confirmed as main contractor on Tottenham Hotspur FC’s new £45 million Training Academy at Bulls Cross in Middlesex. The main training centre building will be used by the first team and academy squads. The building is designed around a 70m x 50m indoor artificial pitch and also contains a hydrotherapy/swimming pool, fitness centre/gym, changing rooms, medical facilities, canteen, and media centre. The company won the contract via a two-stage tender process and have been working closely with KSS Design Group and STACE LLP.
McLaren selected Viewpoint For Projects™ as its project collaboration partner on this build as part of an enterprise agreement. The SaaS collaboration solution will be used throughout the duration of the project to facilitate effective and efficient project delivery. The training academy project will be run using the online software, starting with tendering and through construction, to snagging, and finally, at handover. The Viewpoint For Projects platform will provide efficient document control, a central communications hub, the ability to automate processes, and a clear audit trail for the McLaren Construction team.
“We chose Viewpoint For Projects because we have successfully implemented it on a number of projects over a wide range of sectors and were satisfied that its functionality along with ease-of-use would be ideal for a prestigious scheme such as the THFC training academy,” says Liam O’Brien, Business Systems Manager at McLaren Construction.
"The Viewpoint For Projects system allows us to collaborate effectively across the wide variety of key stakeholders,” he adds. “As this is a traditional contract, we plan to use the tendering module a great deal to control the various subcontract orders whilst using the workflow process to design check all the information before releasing to the project team.”
