Wellesley Square
Audit Trail and Central Document Storage in Viewpoint For Projects™ helped Berkeley Homes build a New Landmark.
Berkeley Homes began construction on Croydon’s high quality mixed-use development, Wellesley Square, in July 2007. Berkeley Homes was awarded the contract along with Rolfe Judd Architects to design and build the development.
The development changed the face of Croydon. The £110 million project is home to a 44-storey residential tower, is the face of the development. Clad in mauves and pinks, the impressive 135 meter high tower is visible across the London Borough.
The development includes 738 studio apartments (one to three bedrooms), several penthouses, and a roof-top garden. The complex boasts a new town square that hosts 3,000 square meters of shops, restaurants, and cafés. Sustainably designed, 20% of the site’s power consumption is drawn from renewable sources.
The East London Line Extension (ELLEX) improves transport links to Croydon from North London, making Wellesley Square easily accessible.
After analysis of the online collaboration market, Berkeley Homes selected Viewpoint For Projects™. The deciding point for Berkley Homes was having total confidence with Viewpoint’s experience and the product’s record of helping to deliver similar mixed-use development projects on time and on budget.
Berkeley Homes used Viewpoint For Projects to manage ongoing issues and queries with the project team. In particular, the company found the product’s audit trail useful, along with the document and drawing management tool that allowed all documents to be stored centrally, which ensured users had access to the most up-to-date versions.
