Viewpoint Brings Single Touch Payroll Capability to Construction ERPs Jobpac Connect and Vista
SYDNEY – February 5, 2019 – Viewpoint, a Trimble company (NASDAQ: TRMB) and construction management software leader, announced that its Jobpac Connect and Vista construction ERP software platforms are now both certified to help customers meet the Australia Taxation Office’s (ATO) Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting requirement.
The new functionality enables Jobpac Connect and Vista clients to electronically connect to the ATO for their pay period reporting processes. STP requires employers to report payments such as salaries and wages, pay as you go (PAYG) withholding and superannuation information from their payroll solution each time they pay their employees. The requirement began for employers with 20 or more employees on 1 July 2018, and will be expanded to include employers with 19 or fewer employees by 1 July 2019, subject to passage in parliament – though those employers can opt in earlier if so desired.
Accounting software providers and their users were granted deferments while software programs are updated to meet the requirement, and Viewpoint is one of the first ERP providers to complete the task. Viewpoint has worked hard to make the capability available, minimize the transition processes and get clients up and running quickly to comply with ATO requirements.
As part of the certification process, software vendors are required to work with one customer for each of Jobpac Connect and Vista software platforms to successfully demonstrate STP submissions to the ATO. Danielle Marsh, payroll manager with Buildcorp Group Pty, Ltd., said working with Viewpoint during this process was easy. “While STP was something we were worried about prior to compliance, now that it’s common practice to use it, I find it a very simple, seamless process that’s completed in just a few clicks.”
“Our global customers need to comply with evolving government reporting and compliance requirements, as any company does. Viewpoint has demonstrated our ongoing committment to helping customers easily and promptly satisfy regulatory requirements and focus their time on revenue-generating activities,” said Viewpoint CEO Manolis Kotzabasakis. “By working directly with the ATO and our customers, we put our customers’ needs first and simplified necessary processes.”
